sciwork conference 2026: Call for Proposals

Call for Proposals

The sciwork 2026 conference brings together professionals, researchers, and enthusiasts in scientific computing, software engineering, and the open-source community. This year's conference will be held as a physical event in
early December 2026.

We warmly invite you to submit proposals for talks and hands-on workshops covering a wide range of topics related to scientific computing, AI agent applications, system performance, and open-source practices.

Conference Topics (including but not limited to):

  • AI Agent Applications & Workflows
    • Code Generation & Software Engineering: Prompt/context engineering, agent-driven code synthesis, automated test generation, code refactoring, and ensuring correctness/alignment with user intent.
    • AI Agents in Computer Science & Systems: Autonomous system diagnosis, compiler optimization assistance, automated profiling/performance tuning, and AI-assisted firmware/embedded development.
    • AI Agents for DevOps & Infrastructure: Autonomous CI/CD troubleshooting, log analysis, automated incident response, infrastructure-as-code generation, and observability automation.
    • AI Agents in Scientific Computing & HPC: Automated numerical modeling, workflow orchestrations, simulation data analysis, and domain-specific agentic tools.
  • High-Performance Computing (HPC): Parallel computing, GPU/heterogeneous acceleration, microarchitecture optimization.
  • Scientific Computing & Data Science: Numerical analysis, computational physics/chemistry, data pipelines & analytics.
  • Other Scientific & Technical Open-Source Case Studies

Submission Guidelines:

  • Presentation Types
    • Regular Presentation: 30 minutes (including Q & A). Focuses on sharing technical concepts, case studies, or open-source project insights.
    • Workshop: 120 ~ 160 minutes (including break). Interactive, hands-on sessions designed to walk participants through practical workflows, tools, or live coding exercises.
  • Proposal Submission Content
    • Title: Provide a clear and concise title for your session.
    • Abstract: Write a brief abstract summarizing the core focus and value of your talk or workshop.
    • Description: Provide additional details (e.g., detailed outline, target audience, technical prerequisites, environment setup for workshops, and expected key takeaways).
  • Important Dates
    • Submission Deadline: 2026/09/16
    • Acceptance/Rejection Notification: 2026/10/12

We aim to be an accessible, technical, and community-driven conference for
novice to advanced engineers alike. If you have hands-on experience applying AI agents to real-world engineering challenges, innovative projects, or open source tools to share, we would be delighted to hear how you tackle complex problems and grow a stronger open-source community together.

If you have any questions or need assistance with your proposal, please do not hesitate to contact us at contact@sciwork.dev.

We look forward to receiving your submissions and your participation in sciwork 2026!

You can enter proposals until 2026-09-16 23:59 (UTC), 1 month, 2 weeks from now.
